As part of its celebration of the 100th anniversary of Finland’s Declaration of Independence, Finlandia Foundation National is hosting several Finland 100 Signature Events throughout 2017:
- February 18 Finland 100 Gala in the Lake Worth/West Palm Beach area. FFN was a major sponsor of this social event at the Delray Beach Marriott. A delegation from the Finnish Parliament, led by the Speaker Maria Lohela, honored the gala by its presence.
- Spring Tour of ten U.S. cities by Ida Elina, the premier modern Finnish kantele player.
- September 18 Women’s International Study Center Symposium featuring former Finnish President Tarja Halonen, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
- September 22 The Minnesota Orchestra will perform an all-Finnish concert under the baton of Music Director Osmo Vanskan, Minneapolis.
- November 4 Finland 100 concert by Philharmonia Northwest , Seattle.
- November 9 Finland Centennial Forum: “Changing the Game” with Keynote Speaker President Martti Ahtisaari and others, New York City:
