Eric Aho is the Inaugural Artist of the Year

Artist of the Year 

Finlandia Foundation National is pleased to introduce Eric Aho as its inaugural Artist of the Year, a program that spotlights outstanding talent within the Finnish-American visual arts community.

Finland is internationally recognized for its contributions to the arts and design fields, and that extends to Finnish and Finnish-American designers, painters, illustrators, photographers, weavers, woodworkers, sculptors, ceramic and other tactile artists in the U.S.

Eric has been called “One of the leading painters of landscape and the environment of his generation.”

He is an American of Finnish descent who lives in Vermont, and studied at the Central School of Art and Design in Vermont. He has a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and did postgraduate work at the Institute of Art and Design in Lahti, Finland.
